Teach One to Lead One (T1L1), a pioneering community mentoring program, announces a significant leadership transition as it embarks on its next chapter of empowering at-risk youth. After 28 years of remarkable leadership, Dr. Lori Maldonado, founder and CEO, is set to pass the baton to Teresa Lutz on December 31, 2024.

Under Dr. Maldonado’s visionary guidance, T1L1 has profoundly impacted the lives of over 55,000 young individuals, fostering a supportive environment for mentors and staff. Reflecting on her tenure, Dr. Maldonado says, “Leading T1L1 has been a journey of passion and purpose. It’s been a privilege to witness the transformative power of mentorship in the lives of so many young people.”

Teresa Lutz, the incoming CEO, brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to the mission of T1L1. Speaking about her new role, Lutz states,

“I am deeply honored to step into the role of CEO at Teach One to Lead One. My journey with this incredible organization has been one of profound learning and personal growth. The vision that Dr. Maldonado has set forth is not just inspiring; it’s a powerful catalyst for change. As we look to the future, my focus will be on building upon our strong foundation, expanding our reach, and deepening the impact we have on the lives of young people. I believe in the transformative power of mentorship and the potential of every child to lead a life of purpose. It’s our responsibility and privilege to ignite that potential. I am excited about the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead and am committed to leading T1L1 with integrity, innovation, and a deep sense of commitment to our mission.”

As T1L1 approaches this transition, the organization reaffirms its dedication to its core principles and goals. With fresh leadership and a renewed vision, T1L1 is poised to broaden its impact, touching more lives and fostering more future leaders.

“We stand at a threshold of new beginnings,” Lutz adds.

“The journey ahead is filled with possibilities and potential. Together, with the support of our community, mentors, and staff, we will continue to make a significant difference in the lives of young people. The future of Teach One to Lead One is not just promising; it’s a beacon of hope and leadership for generations to come.”
