As we write this message on behalf of the Teach One to Lead One (T1L1) Board of Directors to you, your dedication to our mission is at the forefront of our thoughts. We are deeply grateful for your partnership in achieving our much-needed work. Mentoring thousands of students is only possible with your commitment and support. Thank you!

This season is extraordinary for T1L1 as we seek God’s wisdom and watch His plan unfold. We think it’s crucial for you to hear directly from us about the upcoming leadership transition within T1L1. To provide clarity and context, we have outlined key points below:

1. Team Unity: The board is now more unified and committed to the mission and vision of T1L1 than ever before. Our primary aim is to reinforce the strong foundation built over nearly three decades.

2. Our Founder: We deeply love, respect, and appreciate Dr. Lori Salierno-Maldonado and Jose Maldonado. While Dr. Lori will forever remain our founder, they both have led our organization with unwavering passion. We are dedicated to supporting them throughout this transition.

3. Transition Committee: A Transition Committee was formed in anticipation of Dr. Lori and Jose’s December 31, 2024 exit plans. Carefully chosen members with relevant skills and unwavering commitment serve on this committee to guide and advise the board during this transition.

4. Next CEO: The Transition Committee and board have been working together to identify the next T1L1 CEO by the end of 2023, someone equipped with a deep understanding of our target audience and the necessary skills to lead us into the future.

5. The Process: We want to ensure you know that the Transition Committee and the Board of Directors have been unanimous after thorough research, discussion, and prayer. We placed a high priority on diversity of thought and open dialogue in our decision-making process.

We are immensely thankful for our past and present and brimming with excitement about T1L1’s future as God’s plan unfolds. Serving on the board is both a privilege and a responsibility.

We invite you to share your feedback, suggestions, and thoughts. Your input is invaluable. We also invite you to continue your partnership as we remain steadfast in our mission to reach kids in public schools and beyond.

With sincere appreciation,
