The Universal Principles instilled through Teach One to Lead One® (T1L1) groups are capturing the attention of the local newspapers located north of Indianapolis. I witnessed students put on hairnets, roll up their sleeves, and make an impact on others’ lives at a recent T1L1 service project at the International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES) campus.
Critical to the success was the involvement of key figures such as Sara Colter, the Central Indiana Area Manager, the T1L1 National Board, and Global Leadership Team. We packaged 15,996 meals weighing 9,000 pounds, destined for South Africa, offering sustenance and hope amid conflict, violence, and natural disasters. The collective effort of mentors empowering students to action is powerful! But how do you persuade a teenager to wear a hairnet? It is not just work; it is about inspiring teamwork and compassion, helping students recognize their potential for greatness.
