Position Description:

The Communications Coordinator oversees the T1L1 Mobile Mentor app, supports group onboarding, and ensures smooth operations. Responsibilities also include managing program supplies, documentation, and assisting with marketing and engagement efforts.

Position Responsibilities

  1. App Community Management: Oversee the management and daily operations of the T1L1 Mobile Mentor app, ensuring all content is current, user engagement is monitored, and technical issues are resolved quickly.
  2. Lead registration and onboarding for new users and Mobile Mentor groups, ensuring a smooth enrollment process and providing necessary guidance and support.
  3. Manage and support Mobile Mentor groups, assisting mentors with setup, tracking group activity, and ensuring ongoing engagement.
  4. Support the marketing team in developing and executing strategies to increase app downloads, promote engagement, and expand Mobile Mentor participation, ensuring alignment with overall marketing initiatives.
  5. Create and maintain user guides, tutorials, and FAQs to assist students, mentors, and group leaders in navigating the app effectively.
  6. Regularly review and respond to user feedback and inquiries to improve the user experience and address concerns.
  7. Work closely with app developers to address technical issues, troubleshoot bugs, and implement new features or updates.
  8. Coordinate with the content team to ensure fresh, relevant, and engaging materials are consistently uploaded to the app.
  9. Track user engagement metrics, analyze app usage trends, and provide reports to help guide improvements and feature enhancements.
  10. Ensure the app complies with security and privacy standards, safeguarding user data and confidentiality.
  11. Manage and schedule push notifications and in-app messages to keep users informed about updates, events, or new content.
  12. Program Support: Oversee the ordering, inventory, and shipping of program supplies, ensuring timely delivery and accurate tracking.
  13. Collaborate with area program coordinators to generate, and distribute graduation certificates and service project letters for student program participants.
  14. Prepare quarterly invoices for area program-related expenses.
  15. Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to supplies, invoices, and program documentation.
  16. Ensure the program office is well-organized and supplies are stocked, promoting an efficient work environment.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Communications preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Live according to the Core Values and employment policies of CLI.
  3. Self-motivated and able to perform tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  4. Proficiency in working with Adobe Creative Suite tools, Canva, and Asana. Strong skills in MS Office, including Word (for creating professional documents, letters, and mail merge), Excel (for data entry, spreadsheets, and tracking), PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and various AI tools.
  5. Familiar with front-end web development, including HTML and CSS.
  6. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and effective in time management.
  9. Strong project management abilities with consistent follow-through.
  10. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  11. Previous experience in an administrative support role is preferred with an emphasis on professional communication and organizational coordination.
  12. Passionate about youth development.

Working Conditions and Expectations:

  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required for occasional job-related tasks.
  • Primarily office-based, with the option for occasional remote work as approved by management.
  • The standard workweek is 40 hours, with occasional additional hours as needed.
  • May involve after-hours support on an as-needed basis.
  • Creativity and autonomy within the role are encouraged.

  1. Cultivate Lifelong Investors: Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with potential and existing investors. Implement Teach One to Lead One's (T1L1) fundraising philosophy, DLI (Developing Life-Long Investors), to engage investors in our mission to mentor students and lead them into a life of purpose and potential.
  2. Raise Critical Funds: Create and execute an annual fundraising strategy and plan to secure financial support for national T1L1 programs and initiatives. Meet or exceed annual fundraising targets, playing a crucial role in sustaining and expanding T1L1's impact.
  3. Investor Relationship Management: Manage a Prospect List of investors, with a focus on building long-term, trust-based relationships. Effectively communicate T1L1's mission, impact, and financial needs to investors

Position Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and provide progress reports on an annual fundraising strategy & plan to meet or exceed fundraising goals, expand the investor base, and build enduring partnerships with Small Business Owners (SBOs).
  2. Execute a variety of fundraising initiatives, including investor prospecting, investor stewardship, and special events, all centered around fostering life-long relationships with investors.
  3. Utilize financial reports, analyze information, and monitor income and expenses to ensure adherence to the annual fundraising budget while prioritizing DLI principles.
  4. Identify funding available at existing program sites and work with the T1L1 business office to ensure additional funding is available if needed.
  5. Cultivate and manage relationships with individual investors, foundations, and local businesses to secure financial support while nurturing life-long commitments.
  6. Collaborate with communities to engage community leaders and secure support for T1L1’s programs, emphasizing DLI's commitment to lasting partnerships.
  7. Participate actively in the DLI team within T1L1 to stay current in ways to use the DLI principles to build and maintain life-long relationships with investors.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated success in fundraising for a nonprofit organization, with a track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets, and a deep understanding of DLI principles.
  3. Proficiency with desktop and mobile technologies including fundraising software & databases, Google Suite, and a project management tool.
  4. Knowledge of and commitment to Teach One to Lead One's vision & mission, Core Values, and the DLI fundraising philosophy.
  5. Flexibility to travel as required for investor meetings and fundraising events, prioritizing life-long connections.
